Climate & Communications

The climate along Alaska’s Gulf Coast is typical northern maritime, with cool temperatures, cloudy skies, rain and sometimes high winds. The infamous Alaska weather has been the stuff of many a tale. As long-time outfitters in the challenging environment, we have the skills, experience and facilities necessary to keep you warm, dry and protected if your trip is punctuated with any storms.

August temperatures range between 55-75 degrees and sunny days require sunscreen. During September and October, afternoon temperatures vary between 40 and 55 degrees, and often there is frost on the ground in the mornings. This is typical weather, but when it comes to specifics for a particular trip, there are no guarantees. Our gear list is designed to help you arrive prepared.

Communications at the lodge include WiFi via satellite internet and a satellite phone for emergencies.
